Admissions
So, you're serious about pursuing a career as a professional photographer and you think you have what it takes to become a successful Hallmark graduate. Follow these steps and take the first step toward turning your dream into reality.
It all starts with an interview.
If you are ready to begin your career training in September, contact us right away to make arrangements for an interview. We'll ask a lot of questions. That's our job. We're here to determine if you have the qualities we look for that will lead you to your goal of becoming a successful Hallmark graduate. When we find those qualities, we'll want you to tour our Educational Center so you can determine if our unique educational approach is right for you.
Upon successful completion of the interview, all applicants will be asked to:
-
Complete an application for admission thoroughly and accurately with appropriate signatures.
- Obtain two letters of recommendation from people who are not related to you. (Teachers, employers, counselors, clergy, photographers, and Hallmark graduates are good prospects.)
- Prepare a $25.00 application fee in the form of a check, money order or cash.
- Submit an official copy of your high school transcript or G.E.D. Equivalency Certificate. High school seniors may submit an application for admission prior to graduation, however, you will not be permitted to start classes at the Institute until documentation is provided verifying the successful completion of all graduation requirements. College students need not complete degree requirements before applying to the Institute. High school transcripts or a copy of the G.E.D. Equivalency Certificate must be forwarded to the Admissions Office prior to the first day of classes. Transcripts may be obtained from the high school attended.
While the educational background of candidates is considered by the Hallmark Admissions Office, it is not the major criteria for admission to the school. Greater importance is placed upon commitment to pursuing photography as a career and a willingness to work hard to achieve that end; therefore, the information provided by the candidate for admission on the application for admission and in the interview, is carefully reviewed. SAT's are not required.
Foreign student English language requirements may be met by satisfactory completion of ELS Language Center English proficiency programs or by any other recognized test of English proficiency. The location of ELS Language Centers may be obtained by contacting Hallmark Institute.
Hallmark admits students regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex or handicap and is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
